Orovela Saperavi Georgian red review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

waitrose

It’s from Georgia (the country) and made from a grape variety called Saperavi. And it’s a little strange with its astringent minty taste that’s also got some smoky cherry and Parma Violets going on. If you want a wine to contemplate then this is it but be prepared to spend around £15 a bottle. And note, if you experiment by keeping it open for a few days hoping the oxygenation will improve it, well it doesn’t. Down it in one sitting.
