It’s going to be all about nibbling chocolate and sipping different wines on Thursday 14th April with the next WineUncorked monthly online wine tasting event of Matching chocolate to wine in an Easter Special costing just £14/household.
Starting at 7pm BST (yes the clocks will have gone forward into British Summer Time London) and into Daylight Saving Time in the US (so it’ll be 3pm EDT in USA) we’ll be finding the right wine to match to chocolate.
This may seem tricky when there’s so many colours of wine and chocolate but I’ve listed what wines to get as well as what chocolate.
What chocolate will I need to bring?
We’ll be trying three types of chocolate with three wines. So bring along:
- One bar of your choice of dark chocolate
- One packet of Smarties
- One packet of Maltesers
And what wines should I get?
- One bottle of red wine labelled Jam Shed Shiraz or one bottle of red wine from the country of Chile made with the Cabernet Sauvignon grape
- One bottle of Lambrusco Rosso, a low alcohol slightly sparkling Italian red wine
- One bottle of white wine labelled Barefoot Moscato
All of these wines are available at supermarkets.
Jam Shed Shiraz (£6 - £7.75) is available at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, Iceland, Ocado, Co-op, Nisa and SPAR. It’ll also be worth a look in your independent grocery shop for this jammy-tasting wine (check out the review)
