Promoted as a non-alcoholic alternative to wine this fruity cordial enhanced with botanical extracts of 20 different flowers, herbs and spices looks the part with its dark red appearance – but that’s where the similarity with wine stops. The aroma is rather heavy on the mint but there’s also aniseed and cumin on top of light raspberry, elderberry and some earthy rhubarb. Undiluted the flavour is sweet but watery with the minty/menthol dominating with a background of overcooked strawberry and a fruits of the forest mix. When diluted with either tap water or tonic then it becomes too watery for interest. An interesting addition to the no-alcohol fruity drinks but a quality fruit cordial would offer similar flavours and be cheaper.
