This white wine joins Cantina Goccia’s 3Q red in a paper wine bottle – which is actually a cardboard outer with a plastic bag inner (rather like a small version of a 3-litre winebox) and a screwtop that’s a little tricky to get off thanks to plastic ‘shelf’ just below it. But once you’ve got in and poured yourself the straw-coloured wine then it’s all enjoyment – buttery melon aromas have a sprinkle of brown sugar while the flavour is a fruitbowl mix of apple, melon and pear with a floral and lightly smoky edge. Complex stuff.
