Tesco Finest Ribera del Duero Ebeia 2018 review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

tesco

Tesco Finest range is upping its image with this wine. Not only is it a vintage wine that's been aged for a few years but it also boasts an oil painting image on the label. So it should come as no surprise that the price is upped too. At £12 this is an expensive purchase from a supermarket but is it worth it? The Tempranillo grapes used to make this wine are more commonly known as Tinto Fino in the northern Spanish growing region of Ribera del Duero. The result is an aromatic mix of blueberry and creamy plum with a dollop of spice and a good bite of acidity. This wine needs food to balance out the robust flavours - perhaps a Txistorra? A pork sausage wrapped in a tortilla eaten like a hotdog.
