Tilting Tree Merlot 2020 review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

co op

This Merlot from the country of Moldova tastes pleasant enough with its light plum and cherry flavours. There’s also a definite earthiness there too and some black treacle astringency which is at odds with the back label description which proclaims “this is a soft, smooth Merlot”. Match this to food to balance this out and enjoy the fruity flavours. And if you’ve never come across wine from Moldova before then you haven’t looked in Aldi lately – their Moscato rosé made Wine of the Week. The Co-op are also stocking a white version in the Tilting Tree range.
