This is one of two wines at the Co-op in the Tilting Tree range that come from the country of Moldova. An unusual country to source wines you might think, but Moldova produces twenty-five times as much wine as England in a country one-third the size. This Sauvignon Blanc is a very pleasant wine with flavours of apple and lemon with a creamy passion fruit edge. But at £6 it’s a touch expensive when up against the many under a fiver wines out there like Tesco’s Chilean Lateral Sauvignon Blanc (£4.29).
